This is a session on Day 3 of SCANPH’s 2021 Conference: Piece Back Together, October 27-29.
Southern California has a lot at stake with the potential for infrastructure legislation to provide funding and tax incentives sufficient to double affordable rental housing production and preservation. DC-based housing policy experts will discuss the outlook for new federal funding and policy initiatives shaped by the response to the pandemic and renewed attention on the needs of Black Americans and POC. Participants will name top federal budget and policy concerns and provide an overview of housing provisions in the latest COVID-19 response and infrastructure legislation, the proposed FY 2022 HUD funding levels, LIHTC improvements (including lowering the 50% test), key regulatory developments, and other California priorities.
