HOUSING PROVISIONS
Budget investments toward preserving/ protecting/ producing sustainable, affordable housing include:
- $500 million in enhanced state Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC)
- $400 million for Homekey
- $250 million for the CalHome program
- $250 million for the California Housing Accelerator (CHA) Program
- $200 million for the Infill infrastructure Grant (IIG) Program of 2019
- $150 million for Adaptive Reuse
- $145 million for CalHFA [budget correction]
- $100 million for the Multifamily Housing Program (MHP)
- $50 million for affordable housing on state excess sites
- $50 million for the Portfolio Reinvestment Program (PRP)
- $50 million for the Joe Serna Jr. Farmworker Housing Program
- $50 million for the Veterans Housing and Homelessness Prevention (VHHP) Program
- $50 million for accessory dwelling unit (ADU) financing
- $50 million for reuse of the LA/USC Hospital Campus
- $50m for CDFIs
- $30 million for legal aid eviction defense
- $25 million for mobile homes and manufactured housing
- $1 billion for the Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention (HHAP) Program
- $1.95 billion to forgive the loans for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP)
- $500 million for the California Dream For All homeownership program
