Jennifer Lopez joined the California Housing Partnership in 2025 as an Equity Policy Research Fellow, supporting affordable housing preservation and policy efforts through data and policy analysis. They began their policy advocacy journey through internships with POWERCA and Young Invincibles, focusing on housing and higher education issues impacting marginalized communities. Jennifer is passionate about bridging housing and planning with younger generations to inspire early engagement in the urban planning field. In addition, their leadership includes serving as co-chair of the Graduate Caucus for Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social (MALCS) and the National Association for Chicana and Chicano Studies (NACCS), and as a sister of Sigma Pi Alpha Sorority, Inc.
They are currently completing a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning at California Polytechnic State University, Pomona, where their thesis explores displacement in mixed-use commercial corridors. Previously, Jennifer earned a BA with distinction in Women’s and Gender Studies, with a focus on Queer and Chicanx Studies, from Sonoma State University, while also serving as a McNair Scholar.
