Tiyesha Watts joined the California Housing Partnership in 2025 as the Associate Director of Policy Advocacy. She interfaces with the housing finance, sustainable housing and research teams to inform policy initiatives and advocate for legislative and regulatory changes working with other nonprofit advocates, government entities and housing professionals.
Prior to joining the Partnership, Tiyesha worked as a Legislative and Policy Advocate with the California Academy of Family Physicians where she led their legislative, budget and regulatory advocacy strategy. She previously spent years in legislative aid roles in offices across the California State Senate and California Community Colleges advancing initiatives in key policy areas including education, housing, transportation, human services and public safety.
Tiyesha holds a bachelor’s in political science from UC Davis and a master’s in public administration from the University of the Pacific.
